Iced and blended with a touch of apricot and vanilla, this frappe is sure to chill you out on those hot-hot summer days! Today I am using Organically Grown Peru Dark Roast coffee for my frappe. The subtle apricot and vanilla tones of the coffee perfectly compliment the home-made apricot syrup. Best of all this coffee is Smithsonian Certified shade-grown and Bird Friendly. It is also a featured single-origin for August 2019 at TheQueenBean.com. To learn more about this wonderful bean click here. The truth about Certified Organic coffee and why so few small and medium-sized roasters offer it
When speaking about coffee, the term "organic" is complex. There is Certified Organic coffee, noted by a label that says Organic, and organically-grown coffee, also known as natural or passive organic. One is not necessarily cleaner, better for you, or better for the environment than the other.
Cherry espresso jubilee
Here is my take on a traditional Kirsch au Cafรฉ, a delightfully refreshing summertime cocktail with quite the kick! The recipe works particularly well with TheQueenBean.com Espresso Joe. This complex creamy blend has notes of dried cherries, and charred oak -- a perfect compliment to the cherry brandy and cognac. Enjoy!

Honeysuckle latte
I love growing honeysuckle in my garden -- that smell and remarkable beauty! I recently discovered that when used to create a simple syrup and combined with coffee, the edible nectar of the fragrant flower imparts a subtle depth of sweetness. The impact is a delight for the senses. The distinctive aroma of honeysuckle carried on a summer breeze combined with a unique blast of subtly sweet flavor; as charming and tantalizing a combination, as this latte is easy to prepare. Enjoy!
Coffee and sustainability, creating a sustainable cup
Production in 80 countries, employing 125 million workers with 2.25 billion cups of coffee consumed globally per day. Coffee is a big business and sustainability, across all levels of the bean's lifeline, is an increasing problem.

Coffee chocolate malted milkshake
My childhood summers echoed with trips to one of the last remaining local drugstores still serving chocolate malted milkshakes at the counter. This beverage will always remind me of that summertime feeling of long sun-kissed days and nights dripping with possibilities. The malted milkshake has a long history in the USA, made popular as a staple at Walgreens drug store in the 1920s, it soon could be found at many soda fountains and ice cream parlors nationwide. Here is my coffee filled take on the traditional chocolate malted milkshake. Enjoy!
