When the flowers begin to peep through the soil it is the ideal time for a unique, bright, and light spring latte. Here is the queen’s take on a lavender infused-honey latte. The smell alone is evocative of a field of lavender on a warm spring day.
What you will need
- Double shot of espresso or 1/2 cup of strongly brewed coffee
- 1 tablespoon lavender infused honey (for a sweeter cup you can add more)
- 1/2 cup milk or non-dairy milk alternative
1.) Preheat your cup and add 1 tablespoon of lavender-infused honey. You can purchase this honey pre-made or create your own by combining 1 cup of honey with 2 tablespoons of culinary lavender. Bring the mixture to a boil and reduce the heat to medium. Leave the honey to boil for 5 minutes, then strain into a heat-resistant container and allow the mixture to reach room temperature.
2.) Add espresso or strongly brewed coffee to your cup.
3.) Steam and froth your milk. Next, using a spoon to hold back the foam, pour the milk into your cup over the coffee. For a dash of spring color, use food coloring in your milk before steaming. To create an Easter-ready lavender, add a few drops of red until a pale pink is achieved. Then, add blue, one drop at a time until the exact shade of violet desired is achieved.
4.) You can now drizzle extra honey on top of your latte for garnish.
Milk is not my fairytale but lavender espresso could be yummy
