5 fabulously unique iced coffee recipes

Looking to shake up your iced coffee repertoire? Look no further! From avocados to yams to apple cider (and more!), these five recipes merge and mix some of our favorite flavors into unforgettable, and at times unimaginable, iced coffee masterworks.

Es Alpukat Kopi (Avocado Iced Coffee)

Creamy, smooth, and surprisingly sweet, this American take on a Japanese classic is (mostly) healthy, filling, and perfect on a warm summer day — it can also step in as a meal, snack, or dessert. All you need to create this delicious recipe is fresh avocado, fresh coffee, vanilla extract, and condensed milk. We recommend making this coffee with a Brazilian coffee or espresso blend dominated by South American beans.

Dreamy Ube (Yam) Latte

Who doesn’t love a little purple yam in their coffee? While it sounds unconventional, this naturally sweet purple yam extract tastes fabulous in coffee and is packed with feel-good essentials, including potassium and vitamin C, and antioxidants. Purple yam has also been shown to improve gut health. Easy to make and vegan-friendly, this recipe calls for almond, coconut, and rice milk, cinnamon, sugar, ube extract, and espresso. If you don’t have an espresso machine, use strongly brewed coffee or stovetop espresso. We recommend making this drink with a coffee or espresso blend strong in nut base tones, such as a Brazilian or Colombian.

Iced Horchata Latte

If you’ve been looking for a healthy, gently sweet, unique iced coffee, you’ll love the horchata latte! This recipe requires a little more kitchen time than the others in this list but we promise it’s worth it! To make your own delicious horchata you’ll need fresh coffee beans, rice, almonds, a cinnamon stick, a little sugar, and either a spice mill and / or a blade coffee grinder. (We do not recommend making this with a burr grinder as the rice could easily jam it.) If you prefer a drink that is less sweet, try swapping the sugar for honey.

Apple Cider Latte

Apple cider and coffee? It may not be the first combination that comes to mind — until you’ve tried this incredibly sweet, bright apple cider latte recipe. For this recipe, you’ll need espresso or strongly brewed coffee (we recommend using a low acidity coffee, such as a Sumatra), apple cider, milk, and maple syrup. For autumn-loving readers, there is also a scrumptious fall spiced whipped cream option.

Iced Bulletproof Coffee

Brain boosting, metabolism-boosting, and tastes great? Iced bullet proof coffee does it all! As an extra boost this recipe, in addition to coffee and butter, also includes collagen peptides, which help slowdown visible signs of aging, and MCT oil, which helps burn fat. Keto-friendly.
